About Studio 500
Studio 500 is a shared workspace on the fifth floor of 163 W Hastings St, Vancouver, BC. It's home to a small group of early-stage companies and the people who work with them — a few desks or an office each, with shared meeting rooms, kitchen and common space.
Who runs it
The space is operated by 1593426 BC Ltd., a British Columbia company owned by Andrew Vilcsak and Conrad Whelan, who hold the lease and licence space to the companies they invest in and advise.
What we sell
A monthly licence to use a defined desk or office within the studio, plus shared use of the common areas. Each company agrees a fixed monthly fee, payable in advance on the 1st of the month plus GST, collected by pre-authorized debit from a Canadian bank account through Stripe. Licences run month to month with 30 days' notice unless a fixed term is agreed.
Cancellations, refunds and disputes
Either side can end a month-to-month licence with 30 days' written notice, taking effect at the end of a calendar month; fixed-term licences run to their end date. A partial first month is prorated. Fees for a month that has begun aren't refunded, and fees paid in error are refunded to the same bank account within 10 business days. Questions about a debit or an invoice go to andrew@whitby.vc — please write to us before disputing a debit with your bank, as pre-authorized debit disputes can't be reversed once filed.
This website
fivehundred.studio is the members' portal: a directory of who's in the space, each company's licence agreement, and its invoices and bank-debit setup. Because it holds tenant billing details, it's behind a sign-in; there's nothing for sale to the public here.
